Everything between you and the app.

Lockout is one idea carried all the way through: access to a distracting app should cost you something real. Here is how that works in practice.

The mechanics

Built around one trade.

You get the app. Lockout gets the reps first.

App locking

Add the apps that cost you the most time. Lockout sits in front of them and leaves everything else untouched.

Camera verification

Challenges are confirmed through the iPhone camera, so completing one means doing it rather than claiming it.

Pose detection

Lockout is designed to track body position through the rep, which is what lets it tell a real push-up from a shrug.

Custom challenges

Choose the movement and the rep count per app: push-ups, squats, sit-ups, or a 1 km walk. A quick unlock for one, a serious one for the app you cannot put down.

Timed unlocks

An unlock buys a defined window. When it ends, the app locks again — no silent all-day pass.

Your own record

See the challenges you finished and the minutes you earned, so the trade you are making stays visible.

Earn to unlock

The lock you can always open.

A blocker you can't get past is a blocker you delete. Lockout keeps the door unlocked and puts the work in front of it, so the app is always available to anyone willing to pay for it.

  • Every locked app has a price you set yourself
  • Paying it takes effort, not patience
  • Nothing is permanently forbidden

Verification

The camera is the referee.

Lockout is designed to watch the movement through your iPhone camera using pose detection, counting reps as they happen and holding the challenge open until the movement is recognised.

  • Rep counting as you move, with form hints
  • Framing guides so your whole body stays in shot
  • Designed so a tap or a screenshot cannot stand in for a rep

On your terms

Tune it until it works.

The right price is the one that makes you stop and think. Set the challenge and the reps for each app, then raise them when you notice yourself paying without hesitating.

  • Push-ups, squats, sit-ups, or a 1 km walk
  • Adjust rep counts whenever you like
  • Choose how long an unlock lasts

Still being built

What comes next isn’t decided yet.

Lockout is still in development. More challenge types, deeper history and broader app coverage are all on the table — but we’d rather list them here as open questions than sell you a roadmap we haven’t committed to.
